About Me

My name is Holly Suzanne, I am  an abstract expressionist painter inspired by color, texture, and movement.  There are several things influencing me as an artist. I am a Pacific Northwest Native, and I have a deep love and appreciation for nature, having spent many hours hiking the gorgeous mountains, rivers, and lakes.  I am also a twin and I grew up very interested in finding the balance of who I am in relation to others. These things shaped me. My love of art began early in my life as I watched my mother, a figure artist, paint in the evenings in our living room. The smell of her oil paint and her uncanny ability to capture movement in form imprinted into the fabric of my being. These early experiences have shaped me and my life’s work profoundly.

As a healer and an artist, I was able to utilize my skills to help myself heal. Ten years ago following a tragic accident that left me temporarily disabled, I utilized this same passion and purpose in my own healing. My journey has been incredible and transformative. Not only has my body healed but my spirit found it’s home in the meditative process of painting. The work I create today reflects the fusion of my experiences and captures the flow, energy, and beauty of nature as I experience it.  My process is a unique and dynamic meditative conversation between my senses, the medium, and the sights, sounds, textures and scents of the natural world. I use a variety of mediums, including but not limited to alcohol ink, acrylic paint, spray paint, watercolor, encaustic, etc. to facilitate the experience.  The result is work that draws the viewer into the painting. I call it soul work for the home or office.
